Pilates is a system of exercises which are specifically designed to target the core stability muscles. These muscles are particularly important for the strength and stability of the back. In the majority of cases, following an acute episode of back pain the function of these muscles is inhibited. Should these muscles not be re-trained, extensive research has shown the incidence of back pain recurring is as great as 80%. Fisioplus Pilates
Zoe is a clinical Pilates expert. It doesn't matter about size, shape, previous levels of fitness or injury. Niggles and injuries are in fact very welcome. Prior to a class you will attend a personalised 1:1 assessment and muscle activation session so that you can get the absolute best out of the classes. You will leave each class feeling longer, leaner, stronger and each time a little bit wiser about your problem, why it is there, and how to get it better for the future.
When: Mondays & Wednesdays at 10h

NB. To enter a Pilates class you must have had at least one private class or Physio session for assessment purposes. Fisioplus Pilates classes are very specific and objective focused, it is not like going to your local gym for classes. After that you may try a class with no obligation to sign up for free.

Post Natal Pilates
A fun class with an emphasis on strengthening the pelvic floor, abdomen, and upper back, ideal for postpartum recovery.
When: Tuesdays, 10 am – 11 am
Bring your baby along, meet other mothers and work on your pelvic floor at the same time! Each class is taught in English by a qualified Modified Pilates Instructor and UK trained physiotherapist. Before joining a class you need to be at least 6 weeks post vaginal birth or 12 weeks post caesarian section.
Cost: €15 per class or €40 per month
There is a maximum number of 8 per class so please secure your place in advance. Babies are welcome!

Lucy qualified as a physiotherapist in 2000 from the University of East London in the UK. She worked for the National Health Service across various London hospitals until 2007 when she began working in the private sector. Private Classes
A private or semi-private pilates session allows one of our instructors to help students of all ages and backgrounds--whether you are new to pilates, or you have a specific fitness goal in mind and want professional assistance.
The Well Woman Centre offers the ideal setting to work on your personal fitness goals. All the materials are provided for you, the space is warm and inviting, and our pilates instructors are very gifted and eager to help you reach your fitness goals.
